E&Q achieved an honorable mention in the NASA “2013 International Space Apps Challenge" for the REPROV wheel model based on REPROV concept. More than 170 proposals were submitted in this open contest for a total of 2200 people involved in 58 challenges or thematic blocks.

REPROV Wheel is only a part of a broader project coined as REPROV (Self-Replicant Rover), based on the capacity of using 3D printing for self-replicating purposes as final aim. As far as it can be an asymptotic capacity for the rover, earlier steps could be the manufacture of own parts from raw material collected in moons, asteroids and planets without losing the required mobility in space exploration missions.
